Even though
photo is slanted, you can still see the
nice proportions of body to neck length
on this shorn alpaca. Notice normal hock
in the back legs and front legs straight
from this side view.
Even though
this dam's neck is forward, you can see
has a longer body length to neck ratio.
Her cria at side, bred to the proper
male, produced a cria more square in
body proportions and closer to ideal.
This trait was corrected in one mating
by a male who has a track record for
producing squared bodies.
Typical and
accepted cria growth pattern of rear
higher than shoulders but still has a
square-like frame.
Great
straight front legs and good shoulder
capacity.
Nice strong
square type on cria with great ear shape
and nice heavy bone already.
Front bowed
legs of cria (about 1 month of age).
With age, they corrected themselves
almost near perfect.
Notice
nice straight legs on front of this tip
shorn cria. |
